I liked August; August was a damn good month. I’m ending it on a high spending my Bank Holiday weekend in Wales with Allyn and his fam. Just to make you jealous, here is my view whilst I type…
But more on that later.
To stop me from blabbering on about what I got up to, I’m going to start a ‘top ten moments’ from now on. I think it’s a pretty sweet way to sum up the month.
1 – I met Rebel Wilson.
Yeah that was pretty awesome. If you read last month’s sum up, you’d have seen how excited I was to see Guys and Dolls featuring this lovely lady. It was totally brilliant, far funnier than I expected and Rebel just owned the stage with her sassy, cheeky self.
2 – I reached 1000 followers on Twitter, my first blogger goal! Big thanks to you all who’ve supported me throughout the last few months. Here’s to the next 1000.
3 – I ate from an Emoji Menu… that was fun. You can check out my review of The Little Yellow Door here, they do the best steak sandwiches going.
4 – I beat Innocent in a cat GIF off. No explanation needed.
5 – I was nominated for the Versatile Blogger Award by the lovely Erin from Wonderlost Travels. Similar to the Liebster Award, this is a blogger nomination that helps us connect and recognise each other’s awesome work. Thank you Erin!
6 – I tried some crazy looking cocktails at Lounge Bohemia including a maple whiskey that came with mini blueberry pancakes and Allyn’s bizarre looking tree (with some sort of magical tampon attached) and an apple scented potion!
7 – I was the first person to try the Mr Hyde burger at BRGR.CO. Celebrating National Burger day in style, Allyn and I headed out to Soho for an exclusive chance to try this beast of a burger before it goes on sale in September. That meat was what burger dreams are made of. I’ll definitely be back for more (and the dreamiest mac’n’cheese).
8 – I held my first blogger event with Reform Social, a cocktail tasting and masterclass with their hilarious head mixologist Maciej. It was a fabulous evening with some of my fav bloggers.
9 – I got my first publication on the Huffington Post and my first contributor article on Citizen Femme, an online travel hub for women. I’ll be contributing more posts in the future so keep an eye out!
10 – I ended the month on a high spending some quality time with Allyn and his family in Wales. Allyn’s Mum rents a cottage in Harlech every year, so we are extremely lucky to spend our August bank holiday on the beach, catching up on some much needed rest and sunshine.
So September… what’s the plan?
Without spoiling too much, I have a LOT of foodie posts to come out this month including a brand spanking new Michelin star restaurant, a new highly talked about Turkish spot and another night of cocktail tasting.
I’ve also booked up my weekends with some very exciting plans including a girly birthday weekend with my little sister Elsie and a couple of days in Sheffield where I’m finally going to FRIENDS FEST… so expect a lot of excited selfies on my Instagram.
September then ends on a bang with a long awaited trip to Berlin… bring on the German brunch.
What were your top moments of the month?
congrats on getting published in Huffington and reaching your other goals!:)
