This summer I planned my Dad’s 50th Birthday party, a casual gathering that took place in his lovely country home.
I transformed the garden into a Middle Eastern chill out space, using various sensory elements and DIY décor.
The Camper Van was also transformed into the ‘Camper Bar’, featuring a number of DIY cocktails.
The scene was set with live music from Nirakar, a function band whose Indo-Jazz fusion music made the party extra special.
I also made the event as sustainable as possible by reusing decorations, using compostable cups, plates and cutlery and promoting recycling.
Personalised touches were added including photo garlands pegged to the tree.
Lastly a Middle Eastern themed feast was served including handmade salads, traditional pastries and BBQ food.
I also made some sweet treats that went down a storm including a Middle Eastern Coconut Loaf Cake and a Moroccan Rose, Fennel and Dark Chocolate Cake.
And lastly, guests were in awe of the birthday cake, made by an extremely talented family friend Natalie Hardy (if you would like her details just let me know!)
In all, a wonderful afternoon and evening that was considered flawless by Papa Shepherd!
