Another four weeks flown by, I have a feeling I’ll be saying that at the end of every month!
It’s been a strange couple of weeks with the dramatic results of the EU referendum (you should be happy to hear that I voted to stay in) and I’m hesitant to see what happens over the next few years. From a travel blogger’s point of view, I am curious as to how it will affect our trips and business abroad. I can only hope that Europe realises that half of Britain desperately still wants to be a part of your union! #prayforBritain
Well you gotta laugh.
On another note, OITNB is back! I’m half way through the season… so don’t reveal secrets to me people. But hell yes for our favourite lesbian prison programme. I also finally got around to watching The Danish Girl this month and holy **** did I cry. What an incredibly moving film about two inspiring, strong women. A must watch if you haven’t already, even you end up looking like this at the end of it…
June has been a rather exciting month of travels and adventures … as you read this I’m snorkelling in Lindos!
You also can’t have missed my numerous pictures and posts about my short but sweet trip to Costa Rica. It was a truly incredible experience and being able to see a place that has been on my bucket list for so long, whilst staying at the luxury Four Seasons resort, was something I will never forget. If you missed it, you can catch up here.
I’ve also been enjoying some of London’s diverse restaurants with my first taste of Ethiopian cuisine at Queen of Sheba in Kentish Town and a Peruvian meal at Andina in Old Street, which I will be blogging about next month (insert fun bit about whats to come). I also treated Papa Shep to a Father’s Day feast at The Cinnamon Club, an Indian fine dining experience we both thoroughly enjoyed, despite my mouth bursting into flames half way through (I might be dramatising…).
In the world of the West End I finally got to go and see Matilda the Musical with Allyn and it was AMAZING. I couldn’t help but shed an embarrassing amount of tears, which are normally only released from some kind of Disney magic. I urge you to go and see it, if not for the talented bunch of kids who blew my mind with every energetic bounce, then for the hilarious Mr(s) Trunchbull who is perfectly terrifying yet comical.
Our faceI also managed to snap up a couple of tickets to see Guys and Dolls in August, not something I would normally go crazy for but as soon as I saw Rebel Wilson’s beaut face all over the underground I screamed a little bit with excitement. That girl is the definition of independent woman.
Did you catch the Ricoh Lord Mayor’s Hot Air Balloon Regatta the other weekend? I managed to get myself out of bed at 4.45am to see over 40 hot air balloons fly over the London skyline. Luckily because our flat is an open apartment block, I was able to stalk the balloons from outside my neighbours front door… safe to say I’m glad they didn’t randomly appear to find me camera ready in my dressing gown!
This month I’ve also been to some brilliant blogger events this month including a Pinterest masterclass hosted by Ladies in Blogging and Nienke from The Travel Tester. I learnt SO MUCH about Pinterest and hopefully I’ll be pinning better and bigger from now on.
I also popped along to an event ran by Affili.net to introduce bloggers to brands such as Thomas Cook and Sandals resorts. It was a great evening and my first chance to hand out my newly printed business cards!
Oh and I won an Autographer camera, ‘the world’s first wearable camera’, apparently it has sensors that know exactly when to take a picture, perfect for people like me who faff about getting the right ISO and end up missing the shot… I am pretty excited to give this bad boy a go in Greece.
A couple of weeks ago I was also able to attend the Blogger’s Ball, a highly talked about event in the blogging community. It was a fantastic afternoon of highly fashionable bloggers (I tried my best to fit in with their effortless style) meeting some individual brands over a cocktail or two.
I couldn’t pull myself away from the glittering jewels from Fei Liu and the gorgeous stack-able bracelets from Boho Betty – make sure to check them out online, their range is simply gorgeous in every colour and style.
I also couldn’t stop tasting Seed and Bean’s delicious range of organic chocolates which can be found in Waitrose among other stores. Their lavender flavour was incredible, tasting exactly like one of my favourite scents.
I was lucky enough to be given some amazing gifts from brands including Jewellery Box, Boho Betty and Just Beauty so I thought what better than to share the love and host a Summer Giveaway.

Next month I’ll be posting about all things Lindos, some more foodie reviews and travel memoirs. Oh and I turn 24… WHEN DID THAT HAPPEN?!
I’d love to hear what you’ve been up to this month and any exciting plans you have coming up!
